Keeping it in your head

Keeping ideas in your head is risky business. I’m not going to pretend to know a lot about the human brain, but from what I understand we forget and misremember things all the time. If you’re just thinking about ideas and not taking any action, you could be losing more ideas than you realize. Are your ideas any good? Maybe, maybe not. But if you don’t start executing your ideas, you’re only going to have the type of ideas that you get from sitting around and thinking. You’re going to get different ideas from experiences than you will from thoughts alone. If you start making something, you’re going to learn new things and gain new experience that you can build on. I’ve also found keeping a journal or diary to be very useful for the same reason. Even just writing it down, you’re still bringing ideas from inside your head into physical existence.
